Oh my God! It's the Shag that Shag's Shags
By far one of the funniest things I ever heard on TV was something uttered by a smurf. For those unfamiliar with smurfs, they are animated little blue creatures that were on Saturday morning American TV throughout the 80's. Among their many idiosyncracies, smurfs would substitute the word "smurf" for just about any verb or noun they could think of.
So once when one of these minute blue creatures with a pointy white hat saw a giant smurf monster, he was so flabbergasted that he said "Oh my God! It's the smurf that smurfs smurfs" or it's the giant smurf that eats/kills/maims little normal smurfs.
That says a lot about context. In context that statement is hilarious. Out of context, just doesn't make sense.
I need to that more often. Take things in perspective and think about the context.
So Shag here's some advice for you. Make sure what you say, when you say, and how you say it reaches its recipient in the manner in which it was intended.
